Are you a fan of the Montgomery County Community College Libraries? Then become a fan of our new Facebook page! Simply log in to your Facebook account, and click “Become a fan.”
Our page lets you share your favorite photos of the library, start discussions about books you’ve read or services you like, and see what the Libraries’ hours are. If you become a fan, leave us a comment and say hi!
You can install a Firefox toolbar that lets you search the Library catalog, just like the Google toolbar lets you search Google! The cool thing about the toolbar is that it lets you search our catalog from any web site. If you were tooling around the Internet and realized you wanted a book on global warming, all you’d have to do is type your search into the LibX MCCC toolbar in your web browser, and hit Search!
For instructions on how to download and install it, go here: http://libx.org/editions/download.php?edition=67B2CFAA
Then…

We recently acquired access to a new database through EBSCOhost, called GreenFILE. This database “offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.”
To take a look, choose EBSCOhost from the databases page, and then scroll down to “GreenFILE.”
